Bibliometric analysis of articles on smart cities and big data 2016-2021
Main Article Content
Abstract
One of the consequences brought about by the fourth industrial revolution and the acceleration of urbanity were the so-called “smart cities”, where citizens demand an improvement in their quality of life in a sustainable way generated from the efficient management of natural resources. The objective of this article is to carry out an analysis on the state of the art around research on smart cities and big data published in scientific journals during the period 2016-2021, through a bibliometric analysis. The results provide interesting data on current affairs and opportunities in the technological area where various contributions have been made. In conclusion, an increase in scientific production was found on the subject, however, it is necessary to expand specialization, since the relationship only of big data with smart cities is not fully identified, but of a cluster of industry 4.0 factors for building smart cities.
